I know what is coming.
—Mary Baker Eddy
In the opening of the sixth seal, typical of six thousand years since Adam, the distinctive feature has reference to the present age.
—Mary Baker Eddy
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
The time for thinkers has come
I love this woman. Christian Science keeps me alive in an otherwise insane world. That is why you will find “The time for thinkers has come” across the top of all 108 pages on this website.
I speak to a largely empty auditorium. No one knows this better than me. You can see it in the website statistics. Subtract the number of referrers (search engines and social media sites) from the number of visitors on a given day, and you know how many people came back on purpose. Frankly it has only been recently that the difference is routinely above zero. The rest are just Internet surfers.
And you can be damned sure the Christian Scientists are not listening to me. They all but ran me out of their churches when I started to try to tell them about what you will read on this page. Yet I persisted out of a deep yearning for just one of them to say something like, “you know, that is curious.” I must have contacted at least twenty “Journal listed” (i.e. officially recognized) Christian Science practitioners and teachers before I could accept that I would never get a response. That’s right. Not one of them would say I was wrong. They just would not respond. It was utterly bizarre. But the truth is either they had to admit their religious leader made a huge mistake in her “textbook” or else I was right. They could do neither, so they chose to just did not respond. One after another I would put the information on this page in front of them in a dispassionate manner and respectfully ask as one who was intellectually curious how a woman of this caliber could have made such a monumental mistake in a book of which Wikipedia says, “The last numbered edition was the 418th, which appeared in 1906, but further changes were made until 1910.” Actually, there were 432 editions. And that was no accident. The biblical deluge was 432 orbits of Jupiter ago in 3106 BC. You may not be religious, but I’ll risk eternal damnation to say your a damned fool to ignore this woman. She was married to a Royal Arch Freemason in their heyday when being a high ranking Royal Arch Freemason meant you knew exactly what is about to happen, which is to say when the people I call the progeny of Jove were in control of that organization. She outsmarted them. She exposed what they know, but you will never understand or believe that if you disrespect her intellectual capacity. She was a great woman.
All of this brings to the point of to whom am I speaking? When it came to me to add this section to the top of this page, I was reminded of the time I got disoriented way out in the ocean (just beyond sight of the shoreline) in a kayak without a compass. I sent up a flare which I always kept with me when I went ocean kayaking. That was the day I learned about the vastness of the ocean. It went up. It came down. I was still lost, one of two times I had to pray my way out of a desperate ocean kayaking experience. But as it says on my homepage, “I lisped in numbers, for the numbers came.” I’m not after money or popularity. That is not who I am. I seek only the truth. And so I write because writing for others brings mental clarity.
Notice anything peculiar here? Seriously. Look real hard before you continue reading. This is the first page from Mary Baker Eddy’s chapter on the Book of Revelation. Do you see it?
The name of the chapter is Apocalypse, but when she quotes from the book she refers to it as Revelation. The actual name of the chapter in the original 1611 King James Bible is The Revelation, which is the only bible authorized to be read from in a Christian Science church. This last fact is a study in and of itself because the King James Bible encodes much information about the end times.
Why the change? Mary Baker Eddy never talks about the end of the world anywhere in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, including the chapter she chose to name The Apocalypse. Think about that for a minute. Why is she throwing this Apocalypse versus Revelation changes in your face right at the start of the chapter? To be fair, she changes from one to the other name for the 66th book of the (protestant) Bible throughout her book, but I see meaning is this very in your face change. Apocalypse is the Greek word for Revelation, and I think this is a reference to the secret societies (think Pythagoras) and a foreshadowing the the hidden message about the coming axial tilt I discuss in this chapter. Saying so only exposes me to more ridicule, but then again, I apparently am the first Christian Scientist on the planet to discover her hidden message, and I feel in that sense I have the right to interpret what is happening here. In the tradition of all the great writers about this secret of secrets, Mrs. Eddy left me (that’s right, I said me) an anti-cipher, a way of knowing for sure my interpretation of her meaning is correct. Right now, if you care about your life, you need to be listening very carefully.
The word Apocalypse with a capital A occurs 13 times in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. The word Revelation with a capital R occurs 22 times. I wish for a moment you could enter my world because when it occurred to me to count the number of Apocalypse occurrences, I knew the answer before I checked. With all my sins and the mountain of contempt the Christian Scientists pour upon me so that finally I had to part company with them, I am closer to the heart of this woman than any other living human being. It is for this reason, and this reason alone, I know no matter how much I reveal in these 108 pages, no one, and I mean no one, no living human being, will hurt me or even so much as attempt to interrupt what I am doing on amallulla.org. I respect their god, and the will respect mine. Nor will they gas Monjeau or send slaughterbots there in the aftermath of what is about to happen. This is not a wish. This is a command of the Mind that created their god, the numbers we worship together.
Then again, I may be batshit crazy.
Just had to add this to offend the Christian Scientist sensibilities. I gave up thinking I had something in common with these people a long time ago. It is strange how a people who preach God is Love can find it so easy to hate me. Now for that one in one thousand readers who have made it this far, I welcome you to what is for me some of the most precious material on this website. Throw out religion. That’s not what it is about. This is about a book written by a highly intellectual woman who was married to a high ranking Royal Arch Freemason back when that meant something. I am quite convinced he told her everything, perhaps on his dying bed.
Today’s Lesson: 23 Words that shall Echo throughout Eternity
There is a reason why the cross in this famous portrait of Mary Baker Eddy is exaggeratingly tilted. She was married to a Royal Arch Freemason. Mrs. Eddy called her chapter on the Book of Revelation “The Apocalypse” and began it with this quote to the left. I would suggest to you that the emphasis here is on “the time is at hand.” When you combine this quote from the top of Chapter 16, “The Apocalypse” in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, with “To-day’s Lesson” (referred to as a marginal heading) from the top of page 560 in the “textbook” of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy’s statement that “the time for thinkers has come” takes on a whole new meaning.
Except for the very last section, this entire page discusses a single sentence from the Christian Science textbook. Mrs. Eddy did a number of very subtle things to make this sentence jump off the page for alert readers. In the previous sentence, for example, she is talking about the nineteenth century, but in the sentence under discussion she refers to the “present age.” Being the first person since her demise in 1910 to take notice of this sentence, I can say with confidence that, for the present age, this is the most important sentence in that book.
Secret societies throughout the ages have used the number 23 to refer to the coming axial tilt. The 23-word sentence under discussion on this page is the third sentence on the third page in the chapter entitled “The Apocalypse.” This subtle reference to 33 is her telling the reader who told her about the coming axial tilt. I implore you to please stop and and take the time to think of how much thought she put into hiding this message. Then I would ask to to take a moment to consider the fact that the author of this website is the one who found it.
For your convenience, here are photocopies of the first three pages of the chapter entitled The Apocalypse from a 1908, water-stained copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (so as to avoid highly controversial changes made to the book by the Christian Science Board of Directors in 1910, the year Mrs. Eddy died).
How utterly fascinating that she quotes Revelation 12:1 immediately after this sentence. Was she also told about the significance of the asterism that occurred on September 23, 2017, and which I discuss at great length on page № 26. Tomorrowland, Revelation 12:1-2, and Predictive Programming? Was she trying to tell us the timing also?
Now let’s back up to the start of the chapter. The second quote from the Bible is Psalm 48:1. “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.” I think she is pointing Psalms 48 for a reason. Remember, this is not long after the Civil War. I believe she means to suggest an allegorical connection between the progeny of Jove and Korah. The reason I think this is because we are not the attended audience. This is way too subtle for all but a people who communicate in this language all the time, such as the Freemasons of the South, who I believe she is equating with the sons of Korah. This is nothing less than an extraordinarily well-hidden prayer for them, in their own language, which is to say, in symbols. So well hidden, in fact, methinks they may even have missed it.
The whole of Psalms 48 deserves scrutiny in this context.
A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah.
1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God,
in the mountain of his holiness.
2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion,
on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
5 They saw it, and so they marvelled;
they were troubled, and hasted away.
6 Fear took hold upon them there,
and pain, as of a woman in travail. [yet another reference to Revelation 12:1-2]
7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen
in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God:
God will establish it for ever. Selah.
9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth:
thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad,
because of thy judgments.
12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her:
tell the towers thereof.
13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces;
that ye may tell it to the generation following.
14 For this God is our God for ever and ever:
he will be our guide even unto death.
[bold-red emphasis added]
I did not uncover this psalm until well after I changed course and started to praise the Freemasons of the South and differentiate them from the European Illuminati posers in the North. I feel vindicated in that course correction now. And the answer is yes, by the way. If you want to know the year, getting to know me a little might not be such a bad idea. I’m really not a bad guy, and I’m sure the fuck not crazy. At ay rate, reading this page represents intellectual courage to me, and a strong desire (which Mrs. Eddy said was another word for prayer) to know. Methinks I have just rewarded that desire. You’re welcome, or should I say, Welcome aboard! Now slow down. Take your time and go back over everything until you are completely satisfied that you have arrived at the year. Be careful! This is powerful knowledge. You are now in the company of men such as Alexander the Great. The power of this knowledge can make you a better man, but it can also destroy you. Alder was right to say the initial impact of this knowledge has the potential to destroy lesser mortals. In fact, he has become weary of sharing what he knows with others for exactly this reason. He’s lost friends doing so. The last time I got drunk was in the days following my discovery of the year, so please don’t be like me. Read my advice on what to do next on page № 26. Tomorrowland, Revelation 12:1-2, and Predictive Programming. And for God’s sake, stop thinking you have a little private brain that is figuring everything out. The very same Mind that is guiding me is guiding you also. It is preparing the human race for an evolutionary step forward. Although I try not to preach on this website, if you’re wondering if I would recommend you obtain a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, the answer is yes. It’s not a fucking religion. It’s the Truth. It’s a handbook in pure metaphysics. It’s the future. Those pissants who are attending the Christian Science churches are hiding that Truth under the napkin of propriety. They are suffocating to me. They sound like a broken record.
Most likely long after writing that sentence on page 560 of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy said the following to a student named Lida Fitzpatrick while teaching her Course in Divinity on May 18, 1903:
I know what is coming. I dare not tell you what I know; you are young yet, and now is the time to experiment. You will know some day. We are told the world will be destroyed. How? … We are told, like Mt. Pelee there is an internal fire that will finally burst forth and will destroy the world.1
Well, first we must check the historical veracity of this quote. Did she really say this? I wrote to the Research and Reference Services at the Mary Baker Eddy Library in Boston, Massachusetts and asked for their help in determining the authenticity of this quote. The following response from a Mr. Kurt Morris:
Dear Mr. ,
Thank you for your question regarding the quote attributed to Mary Baker Eddy as follows: “I know what is coming. I dare not tell you what I know; you are young yet, and now is the time to experiment. You will know some day. We are told the world will be destroyed. How? … We are told, like Mt. Pelee there is an internal fire that will finally burst forth and will destroy the world.”
This quotation is from the notebook of one of Eddy’s students, Lida Fitzpatrick. It is correct as quoted.

But this was a casual conversation with one of her students. Stop and think for a minute. If Mary Baker Eddy really knew the world was about to be destroyed, would she not have warned her students (as Christ Jesus did his disciples) in her textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures? Of course she would have. That warning is the sentence at the top of page 560.
The “Mistake” of a Lifetime
I have courteously and respectfully put this question before at least a dozen “Journal-listed” Christian Science practitioners and teachers. None of them dare answer me because either my interpretation of this sentence is correct or else Mrs. Eddy made a big mistake. Someone is making a big mistake. That much is for sure. I will let the reader judge.
Let us take a closer look at the text in question. The previous sentence begins at the bottom of page 559.
The twelfth chapter of the Apocalypse, or Revelation of St. John…
I do not think there are any more carefully chosen words in the history of writing. Why? What she is telling us is that she knows whereof she speaks. In the next sentence, she is about to reference the sixth chapter of Revelation, and she wants to make it perfectly clear to the reader that this is not a mistake. The next sentence is the one I consider to be the most important in the whole book. In it she references the “six seal.”
The term “sixth seal” occurs only once in the Bible. Let me repeat this. The term “sixth seal” occurs only once in the Bible, ONLY ONCE, and it is in the sixth chapter of Revelation, not the twelfth. Before and after the sentence, “In the opening of the sixth seal, typical of six thousand years since Adam, the distinctive feature has reference to the present age,” Mrs. Eddy is talking about the twelfth chapter of Revelation. Reference to the “sixth seal” is out of place, an apparent mistake.
There were 432 editions of her book. She poured over this book for most of her life. Do you think for a moment that it’s possible that year after year she read “The twelfth chapter of the Apocalypse, or Revelation of St. John” and then saw the reference to the “six seal” in the next sentence and never noticed this discrepancy? Please, stop for a minute and ponder this question because in answering it fairly and honestly a light will pour into your consciousness and you will see these two lines as they were meant to be seen.
Here is Wisdom
Your average Christian Scientist has grown so wise in their own eyes, that they probably dismiss the 666, “Here is wisdom” passage in the Bible as childish nonsense, not realizing their leader fully embraced it.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Now here is what I consider to be the single most important sentence (at least for this generation) in all of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures:
In the opening of the sixth seal, typical of six thousand years since Adam, the distinctive feature has reference to the present age.
For a long time even after I became aware of the significance of this sentence, the phrase “typical of the sixth thousand years since Adam” bothered me to no end. It was meant to do that. It was meant to get your attention. I have carefully read the entire sixth chapter of Revelation and there is nothing “typical of the sixth thousand years since Adam” in it. Nothing! including the sixth seal. Why then this peculiar phrase?
What we are talking about here is something I refer to as an anti-cipher elsewhere on this website. All of the great writers use them. What an anti-cipher is meant to communicate is “Yes! You get it.” Anti-ciphers assure the reader than some otherwise fantastical interpretation of the text is correct.
The missing sixth is the anti-cipher. Now you can understand why she began the previous sentence, “The twelfth chapter of the Apocalypse, or Revelation of St. John…”
You see, something is missing in the sentence, “In the opening of the sixth seal, typical of six thousand years since Adam, the distinctive feature has reference to the present age.” The missing thing is the six chapter of Revelation. This sentence is pointing to that chapter. So we have the sixth seal and sixth thousand years pointing to the sixth chapter of Revelation, or 666. The dull, unsuspecting mind will dismiss this possibility as imaginative, not appreciating the significance of the hidden reference to the sixth chapter of Revelation. But this is precisely why she began the previous sentence, “The twelfth chapter.”
And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
The other part of the anti-cipher is, of course, the fact that she constructed the sentence in question with exactly 23 words, which is, of course, a reference to the coming axial tilt. Between the two, there can be little doubt as to her meaning. She is speaking in the language of the progeny of Jove.
The Widow of a High-Ranking Freemason
This makes the insertion of the phrase “typical of the sixth thousand years since Adam” immensely important to our understanding of this text because what she is saying by this concealed reference to 666 is that this is worldly knowledge she obtained from the secret societies of her day, namely the Freemasons.
My husband was a freemason, being a member in Saint Andrew’s Lodge, Number 10, and of Union Chapter, Number 3, of Royal Arch masons. He was highly esteemed and sincerely lamented by a large circle of friends and acquaintances… –Marriage and Parentage from Retrospection and Introspection by Mary Baker Eddy
Mary Baker Eddy married a high-ranking Freemason at the height of their power when they were still in direct control of the United States of America through the presidency. His name was Colonel George Washington Glover. He obviously took her into his confidence and broke his oath of secrecy. How else would she know? I do not believe in prophesy, a subject I discuss on page № 102. There are No Prophets. Enoch, Daniel, Christ Jesus, and Mary Baker Eddy learned of the coming destruction of the world from a people I call the progeny of Jove.2 As stated on my home page, their knowledge of this world is older than the Great Pyramid of Giza and dates back to previous ages. She very subtly alludes to this secret knowledge of the ages in her arrangement of the text.
Count the lines. The “present age” is the fifth line, which corresponds to the fifth world in which the ancients tell us we are now living.
23, 33, 666, the fifth world. Mrs. Eddy is paying homage to the knowledge of the ancients. But more importantly, she is telling you that she learned this from the Freemasons, in particular, the Royal Arch masons.
It is not possible to overemphasize that her husband was a member of the Royal Arch. So was the original General George Washington. These were the Freemasons who were entrusted with the most profound secret of the ages. They were our Founding Fathers, and they, like Mrs. Eddy, knew “what is coming.” And if Mrs. Eddy did not learn what was coming from her late husband, then she did from one of the many other high-ranking Freemasons in her church. Someone told her as surely as someone told Christ Jesus because I simply do not believe in prophesy.
What is the “distinctive feature”?
When Mrs. Eddy was speaking to her student Lida Fitzpatrick, she said “I dare not say” [what is coming], but then right away she says very clearly that “like Mt. Pelee there is an internal fire that will finally burst forth and will destroy the world.” I dare not say, yet I say. Why did she do this?
Is the “distinctive feature” in Revelation 6 a major earthquake?
What does the Bible actually say? Revelation 6 begins as follows:
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
I believe this is why Mrs. Eddy told Lida Fitzpatrick, “I dare not say” and then immediately did say a great earthquake, because Revelation 6 itself makes this a plausible answer. She may also have been making a subtle reference to the “ekpyrosis” spoken of by the ancient Greeks as a way of letting us know the extraordinary nature of what is about to happen. In either case, I think she was conflicted with a desire to share what she knew and a need to deflect the thought of the Freemasons, who might otherwise silence her as surely as they did Christ Jesus over 2,000 years ago when they paraded around as the Roman elite. But even a supervolcano does not approach the dire predictions found in the Bible.
for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be
there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation
The record is clear the Earth has survived many supervolcano eruptions, as it will many more in the future. They are a regular part of life on this planet. Clearly, Daniel and Christ Jesus are referring to something much worse, a level of devastation that will undoubtedly end “the present age.” So what exactly is the “distinctive feature” if not an earthquake?
See also Can you give some background on the Ark Edition of “Science and Health”? at the MBE Library.
The cover of the second edition of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (published in 1878, 35 years after she married Colonel George Washington Glover) was adorned with an image of Noah’s Ark. Consequently, it is called the “Ark Edition.” Why? Why did she put an image of Noah’s Ark on her primary work on metaphysics?
If the “Ark Edition” was meant to convey a message, that message stands in stark contrast to her suggestion that the world is about to be destroyed by a major earthquake. Which is it, a major earthquake or another biblical deluge?
Perhaps she was thinking ahead to a future edition and the use of something infinitely more subtle. If the Ark Edition says “I am going to use the cover of my book to tell you something about the coming destruction of the world,” what adorns the final edition of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures? Nothing less than a widely-recognized Freemason symbol, one that also adorns many of their lodges.
The symbol at the top is a trademark for Christian Science. The Freemason symbol at the bottom is also known as “Knight Templars Blood-Red Passion Cross and Crown”. There are several critically important difference between these two symbols. The Cross and Crown symbol as used in Christian Science lacks the crossed swords, cross pattée, and the Latin phrase “In Hoc Signo Vinces”. This phrase is blazoned on the cross pattée, which has its origins in astrology, not Christianity. Furthermore, Constantine the Great was a progeny of Jove (as were all the Greats is history). The progeny of Jove brutally murdered Christ Jesus days after he told his disciples about the end of this world in what has since become known as the Olivet Discourse. They did this to silence him. For those in the know, the Knight Templars Blood-Red Passion Cross and Crown signifies the eventual death of Christianity and of religion in general. Mrs. Eddy liberated the Cross and Crown, surrounded it with a circle, her sign for the infinite God, and replaced “In Hoc Signo Vinces” with a condensation of the following scripture.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
But what does the Cross and Crown symbol mean? What does this symbol tell us about the coming destruction of the world?
The tilted cross in the Cross and Crown symbol is emblematic of the coming axial tilt, as used in both Freemasonry and Christian Science. The five stars represent the five ages. Thus the Cross and Crown alone represent the destruction of the Fifth World. That is why the circle in the Christian Science trademark is so important. It symbolizes victory over death whereas the crossed swords, cross pattée, and the Latin phrase “In Hoc Signo Vinces” in the “Knight Templars Blood-Red Passion Cross and Crown” represent victory over religion. These two symbols are diametrically opposed.
While this interpretation of the Cross and Crown may be controversial, let us be sure of one thing, the start of the sentence “In the opening of the sixth seal” is a reference to the closing paragraph of Revelation 6 (verses 12-17, quoted below) in which the term “sixth seal” is mentioned. Thus, whatever is identified as the “distinctive feature” must be drawn from these verses of the Bible and nowhere else.
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? [bold-red emphasis added]
I do not expect all readers to know this, but “and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth” and “the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together” is a classic, widely-accepted description of the night sky during an axial tilt. Nor will I advance that argument on this page as it is most likely never going to be read. Non-Christian Scientist will shun this page thinking I intend to proselytize. And Christian Scientists will shun it for reasons discussed on page № 103. The Problem with Today’s Christian Scientists. Nevertheless, that Revelation 6 is depicting an axial tilt is beyond question. This is precisely why Rand and Rose Flem-Ath named their book “When The Sky Fell.” Great earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and unbelievably huge, mountainous ocean tsunamis (the later delayed by at least one or two days, see Noah’s Secret for a discussion) are inherently part of an axial tilt.
The “distinctive feature” is an axial tilt that will kill over seven billion people within a matter of days, by earthquake, volcanic eruption, tidal wave, or sheer terror.
Capstone Donated by the Freemasons
I should think this pyramid capstone highly significant if in fact it was donated by the Freemasons at a time when they were still in direct control of the United States of America, but I need to verify this fact. Wikipedia says only the following:
In 1921, on the 100th anniversary of Eddy’s birth, a 100-ton (in rough) and 60–70 tons (hewn), pyramid with a 121 square foot footprint was dedicated on the site of her birthplace in Bow, New Hampshire. A gift from James F. Lord, it was dynamited in 1962 by order of the church’s board of directors. Also demolished was Eddy’s former home in Pleasant View, as the board feared that it was becoming a place of pilgrimage. —Wikipedia
It may have been dedicated in 1921, but according to an article entitled “The centennial of Mrs. Eddy’s birth in 1921” on the christiansciencehistory.typepad.com website, the “pyramid” was in place well before then in 1919. This article has much more information and pictures of the pyramid capstone, but it does not even mention Freemasons.
As of this writing, I can neither confirm that James F. Lord was a Freemason, nor that the pyramid capstone was donated by the Freemasons. I can only find this reference from the New World Encyclopedia:
In 1921 on the 100th anniversary of her birth, a 100-ton, 11-foot high granite pyramid was dedicated on the site of her birthplace in Bow, Massachusetts. A gift from the Freemasons (the only other religious society church members are permitted to join), it was later dynamited by order of the Mother Church Board of Directors. They also ordered her home in Pleasant View to be demolished as it was becoming a place of pilgrimage. [bold-red emphasis added]
I will at some point in the near future ask the opinion of the Research & Reference Services of the Mary Baker Eddy Library in Boston, Massachusetts if they think it is correct to characterize this donation as having come from the Freemasons. For the record, I am no fan of the Mother Church Board of Directors. I withdrew my membership from this church decades ago.
A great many Internet pages also say that Mrs. Eddy was an “associate” of Henry Steel Olcott, a 33rd Degree Freemason, who Wikipedia says is a “co-founder and first President of the Theosophical Society.” This association is usually made by way of suggesting that Christian Science is somehow evil. I can assure you that I have been around these people for 40 years and they are not. The researchers at the MBE Library deny that she ever knew or met this man and I can find no references outside of those who would profane my religion. It is undeniable that the cross and crown which adorns the cover of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures is also used by the Freemasons, but to use this as a basis to attack Christian Science evidences an acute lack of understanding as to why she chose this symbol instead of the ark used on the second edition of her textbook.
